Lately I have been struck by how much I look forward to checking out my magnolia tree every evening. I don't know what it is about this tree that is so enticing. When we bought our house it was a pretty unimpresive young tree but over the years it has started to grow and look a bit more substantial, though still somewhat lopsided. I got really excited when I saw the frist bud that would soon be the first bloom of the season.
Every evening Ellen and I go out to check on the tree before our bike ride. We love to check for new buds and smell the pretty blooms.
We've even picked a few and tried to bring them into the house in vases but they just don't last long. Over night they turn gold and don't smell as sweet. I love this little routine with Ellen and what a good reminder it is that life is full of so many great little things. Love, The Little Bee and her Momma
