Another scary tale...
Monday Mommy Must Have: Physicans Formula Healthy Wear Pressed Powder
It was a dark and stormy night, Daddy walked into the bathroom and said, "Mommy, why is your face peeling off?" Mommy looked in the mirror and saw dark spots all over that apparently gave the appearance that her face was peeling off. I wish I could tell you that this is just a good scary Halloween tale but it's not. Daddy actually thought my face was peeling off. This is what prompted my sudden obsession with ridding myself of these dart spots. So, you have peels and potions for treatment but what about prevention. I have a favorite sunscreen I will share with you later for pre-makeup application but what about post-makeup. You should reapply sunscreen regularly through out the day but how to do this without ruining your makeup? Powder with 50 spf built in! Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Pressed Powder can always be found in my purse and I apply it often through out the day. It is a nice weight, wears well with a matte finish, is a mineral based UVA/UVB sunscreen. I have even read about mom's using it on their kids when they forgot to bring other sunscreen! At about 15 bucks a pop it is worth a try. Love, The Little Bee's Momma

Feeding the Giraffes
On one of our recent zoo trips we were surprised by the chance to feed the giraffes some lettuce. This is a baby and his uncle. The zoo keepers will give you about three leaves of Romaine lettuce and then share the giraffe feeding rules: 1. Don't touch the giraffes
2. Don't tear up the lettuce but give them the whole leaf
3. Don't tease the giraffe
Monday Mommy Must Have: Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel System
Pregnancy really threw my skin for a loop! I have been pretty lucky to have good skin throughout my life but the Little Bee gave me melasma, or dark spots on my face. I had a chemical peel at a spa but my skin was too sensitive for even their most gentle treatments. I am going to share a few of the things that I have been using to treat my spots. All of which have worked and are affordable! I love all of Olay's products and they get consistent good reviews from others too. The Microdermabrasion and Peel System works wonders for skin tone and texture. It is gentle enough for my sensitive skin but powerful enough to get results. The two step process is kind of fun in a science kit sort of way. First you massage a grity orange mask on to your face and then cover it with a clear gel. When the two chemicals mix they react in a way that you can feel. Your face gets warm and the mask becomes a light foam. Then you just rinse everything off. Super fast and easy! I then slather moisturizers on my face and ask Lloyd to tell me that I am glowing. "You're glowing, Babe, now move so I can watch golf." The dermatologist I saw reccomended treating my spots gradually versus some more drastic and costly measures such as lazer treatments. She advised that I would have more control if I took things slowly and warned that the more drastic treatments can lighten some areas too much. This has worked for me so far and I will continue to share what I have been using. Love, The Little Bee's Momma
