Feeding the Giraffes

On one of our recent zoo trips we were surprised by the chance to feed the giraffes some lettuce. This is a baby and his uncle. The zoo keepers will give you about three leaves of Romaine lettuce and then share the giraffe feeding rules:

1. Don't touch the giraffes

2. Don't tear up the lettuce but give them the whole leaf

3. Don't tease the giraffe

At first the Little Bee was a bit afraid of feeding the giraffes and was content to let Mommy do it while she watched. We stuck around and she got more comfortable. One of the zoo keepers gave her extra lettuce so that she could have a turn.

What a fun surprise! I can't believe how close we got to the giraffes. It was really hard to follow rule number one! Love, The Little Bee and her Momma
