The Christmas festivities continued for Ellen throughout the week and she is still asking me for "presents". She noticed that one of the rubber duckies she plays with in the tub is holding a present and asked, "Santa present?" I explained that this was a birthday duck with a birthday present and she got this look in her eye like, "You mean there is another day out there where I get showered with presents?" This whole present fever has lead me on a mission of making sure that we really emphasize more of the reason we celebrate Christmas next year.

After finished up Christmas morning at our house we went over to Cece and Grandpa's house to spend some family time and exchange some more gifts. Ellen really loved being the center of attention for all of these festivities and handed out the presents to everyone. She totally got into unwrapping presents as well and "helped" us all.

Aunt Muffy showered her with presents including this pink tutu.

Aunt Muffy also came through with the glitter Toms or as Ellen calls them "parkle shoes". These were a big hit and she immediately put them on. This girl is shoe obsessed. Sarah Jessica Parker in the making... You can see Daddy in the background looking like he is a bit tired. I think we had started to watch "A Christmas Story" which my parents had never seen!

That evening we went over to visit Lloyd's mother's side of the family where Ellen found this beautiful pram waiting for her. Again she helped everyone unwrap their presents and enjoyed being the center of attention. Our Little Bee is no wall flower!
It was so fun seeing how much Ellen got into Santa, unwrapping her presents and spending time with family but I really feel like we missed the boat on teaching her more about the birth story. We did take her to the children's service at church and that was precious! The kiddos acted out the birth story and I explained to Ellen what was going on as she watched and tried to make sense of it all. We also have a cute bedtime story of of the birth of Jesus but all of this didn't seem to really sink in next year. I have some great ideas about how to do this differently next year that I can't wait to get into! Love, The Little Bee and her Momma
