New Orange Tree!

In last year's freeze we lost our kumquat tree. I was pretty sad about this because it was a beautiful tree but then I got busy and we lived with a dead tree in our yard for a year. One weekend I decided I could not look at it one second longer and Lloyd saw a chainsaw in his afternoon plans. Poor Lloyd, I am continually dreaming up big house projects that demand his immediate attention and usually some manual labor. He is great about doing these as long as he can also get some golf in. After cutting the tree down he came inside and showed me how he almost cut his foot off with a slip of the chain saw! It was pretty scary and cost us a new pair of tennis shoes. Close call...
Uncle John will randomly call us and ask things like, "Do you want an extra fig tree?" or "I have an orange tree you can have". I always say yes and just figure out the logistics later. When the call came this time, we were ready! Ellen and Daddy got right to planting this new tree.
Ellen had a great time helping Daddy dig in the dirt and wearing her rain boots to water the tree.
Uncle John predicts that we will have fruit on this tree within the year! We can't wait. Love, The Little Bee and her Momma
